Any info about Sanyuesan Festival in Qujing/Yunnan on the Duoyi River in April

I briefly read on the internet about the Buyi minority Sanyuesan Festival in Qujing near the Duoyi River. I'm traveling from Kunming and was wondering how to get there once I arrive in Luoping. Anyone have any info about the festival like when it takes place for sure, or where to go and where to stay?

The Buyi minority Sanyuesan Festival in Duoyi River will take place on Apr.8 this year, and hopefully will last for 3 days as usual.  "Sanyuesan" means the 3rd day of the 3rd month by Chinese lunar calendar, which various each year by solar calendar.

This is a very ceremonious event for the Buyis to sacrifice the Gods of Mountain and Water. People gather along the river bank with splendid attires on. The celebration includes bamboo raft racing, splashing water for sport singing in antiphonal style for courtship, offering an array of their local foods such as colored rice, fish with sort bamboo shoots and palm pie...

There are frequent tourist buses from Luoping county seat to Duoyi River everyday, Y30/ticket, valid for one day. The ticket also covers Jiulong waterfall and Lubuge Gorge. You can go to anywhere you like.

For sleeping, you can choose either to stay in the city (budget hotels are centralized around the bus station and Xiguan Jie, price ranges from Y20/bed to Y60/std. room ) or a simply styled guesthouse around Duoyi River for Y20~40/night.
