October in Yading Nature Reserve...how cold?
Hi,
I'm planning a trip in October along the lines of Chengdu-Danba-Litang-Daocheng-Yading-Kangding-Chengdu. My reason for going is to see Yading as I'm a keen landscape photographer. I'd like to get an idea of how cold it will be in day/night so that I can buy the correct clothing and sleeping bag. I'm guessing I'll need a sleeping bag given what I've read of the tents at Yading?
Any comments much appreciated.

Hi, Graham, the lowest temperature at night is around minus 10 degree celsius in Oct. Lodgings are only availabe at Longlong Ba and Yading village now, not tent is allowed inside the Reserve any more.
Your scheduled route is fine, but if you have more time, I would recommend you head southward to Yunnan from Daocheng after visiting Yading reserve, Meili Snow Mountain Range(Kawa Karpo) attracts flocks of landscape photographers in autumn. You can refer to Kunming-to-Chengdu if you are interested.
